I am a father of four wonderful kids. I loved playing sports as a kid, so I always tried to encourage my kids to participate as well. I coached several sports as they were growing up, from soccer to football and finally baseball. When you see your kid give it their all and do amazing things despite the odds they face, it is like seeing their true spirit come alive before your eyes. Nothing compares to it. Seeing the toughness and the ability to compete after months of working toward that moment is just amazing. It eclipses all the heartache you see them go through along the way.
I’ve spent years teaching culture, leadership, and mental toughness to the teams I’ve coached and the people I’ve led in the corporate world. My faith guides me to this purpose, to give back to as many people as I can. I am just the pen, and God is the hand. Now that my youngest son plays high school baseball, I’m deep into the game again.
I’m passionate about mental toughness because I still pursue it in my own life.
